About This Experience

The same three châteaux as this operator's budget coach tour — Chambord, Chenonceau and Cheverny — with two differences that account for the price: a car comes to your hotel in the morning, and a local guide runs guided tours inside each château instead of leaving you to it.

Read the pickup arrangement carefully, because it is asymmetric and the operator says so plainly: hotel pickup in the morning is included, the drop-off is not. You finish at the Pullman Paris Centre Bercy and make your own way from there. For an early start across a city with no Metro running yet, the morning half is the half that matters — but it is worth knowing before you book.

Inside, the day is more structured than most. Chambord gets a guided tour and then free sightseeing; Chenonceau gets a guided tour and then free time; Cheverny gets a guided tour. Lunch is not included and you take it at either Chenonceau or Chambord.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.3/5 by 61 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

This day trip to visit the Loire Valley, to tour three of the most beautiful chateaux, Chambord, Chenonceau, and Cheverny, was the BEST! Our guide, Claire, was brilliant! I learned so much about the history of the castles, the transportation was very comfortable, and our tour bus driver was excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would highly recommend!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and was Abel to answer all the questions people had. She even kept her cool when a couple returned 20 min. late for the departure.

Great tour! Learned a lot from our tour guide Martina. This tour is a must when you visit France. So much to see in so little time. 2 of the best Chateaus out of 300.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it pick me up at my hotel?

In the morning, yes, anywhere inside the Paris 75000 postcodes — you give the address when booking. The evening drop-off is not a hotel drop-off: the tour ends at the Pullman Paris Centre Bercy and you make your own way back.

Are the castle visits guided?

Yes. The itinerary lists a guided tour at each of Chambord, Chenonceau and Cheverny, with free sightseeing time added at the first two. That is the main difference from the same operator's cheaper coach tour, where guiding is a paid option.

Which three castles?

Chambord first, then Chenonceau, then Cheverny — the 17th-century house with the best-preserved interiors of the three.

Is lunch included?

No. There is free time for lunch at either Chenonceau or Chambord, at your own expense.

How long is the day?

About 13 hours, and the pickup is early — figure on roughly 2 hours 15 minutes of driving down and 2 hours 45 minutes back.

Is it worth paying more than the coach-only version?

It depends on two things you can price: whether you want a guide inside the rooms rather than tickets and free time, and whether a morning hotel pickup is worth roughly $155 a head to you. Both tours visit the same three châteaux.

Can wheelchair users join?

No. The operator lists the tour as unsuitable for wheelchair users.

Can I cancel?

Yes, free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
