From Paris: Loire Valley Castles Private Day Tour

About This Experience

A genuinely private Loire day: your own vehicle, your own driver, hotel pickup and drop-off, and the three-château classic — Chambord, Chenonceau and Cheverny — with entry tickets and audio guides included. It is priced per group for up to three people, not per person.

That pricing is the whole comparison. $1,090 for a party of three is around $363 each, which puts it alongside the small-group minibuses rather than above them, and buys you a car that leaves when you are ready rather than at a coach's schedule. For one or two travellers the same figure is much harder to justify.

Chambord opens the day, Chenonceau follows, Cheverny closes it, and lunch is free time at Chenonceau or Chambord. The operator lists an unusually long language roster — twelve, including German, Italian, Japanese and Korean — which is often the reason a private booking is worth it in the first place.

What Travelers Say

Rated 5.0/5 by 3 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

We had a great time exploring the Chateaux of the Loire Valley. As a family traveling with three children, I appreciated the flexibility of the tour. The ride was comfortable and we had a lot of fun.

The private tour is great for those who want to explore on their own without a larger group. While there is a schedule to keep you on time, you don't have to worry about a large group of other people making you wait or disturbing your experience. We had a great experience. it was also very convenient being picked up and dropped off at our our door.

I booked a private tour because my elderly parents were with me. We walked around the castle, but we were able to get on and off as close as possible, so it was physically comfortable. The driver drove safely, and we had a good time. Thank you very much.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it priced per person or per group?

Per group, for up to three people. $1,090 covers the party, which is about $363 each for three and a very different proposition for one.

Is there a live guide?

No. The Includes box lists audio guides at the châteaux rather than a licensed guide walking you through the rooms. The driver handles the logistics and the route.

Which castles?

Chambord first, then Chenonceau, then Cheverny, with entry tickets to all three included.

Is lunch included?

No. You get free time for lunch at either Chenonceau or Chambord, at your own expense.

What languages is it available in?

Twelve are listed: French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Does it pick up at my hotel?

Yes, both ways — pickup and drop-off at your Paris address.

How long is the day?

About 12 hours, and because it is private the timings flex around you rather than around a coach schedule.

Can I cancel?

Yes, free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time.
